Weekly Update

Snow Treasure Day: Sled STEM Challenge

As part of our "Snow Treasure" celebration students took on the Duct tape sled challenge. Thank you for all of the donations of supplies! Students used their math knowledge to meet the size requirements and measure the distance their sled traveled down the hill. Using the engineering process students build and raced their sled down a hill.

Museum of Science Visit

Thank you to the Kennedy PCC for funding an amazing learning opportunity. The Museum of Science visited JFK on Tuesday to help students take a closer look at animal adaptations. Students loved seeing a live frog, gecko, and a "Screaming Hairy" armadillo. They also looked at a variety of animal skulls and used eye and teeth features to determine the animal's food source. What a great learning experience!
