Good afternoon families! We had a great day getting to know one another and just some of the in's and out's for fourth grade, including deciphering the two Mrs. Williams'. We began our day with Morning Meeting in which students played a choice movement activity. Ask your child about some of the choices they had to make (ex: book vs movie). Children also had the chance to express how they felt about 4th grade. Many students feel nervous coming into 4th grade. We read several books today that helped us cope with these feelings. Students participated in other fun activities to get to know each other. In
"Find someone who...." we discovered that many of the students in our class have green eyes! Students also worked together to discover the different areas of our classroom by participating in a classroom scavenger hunt.

Your child also learned how to use their homework folder and assignment notebook to stay organized and complete homework. Your child's first homework assignment is the Brown Bag Mystery and is due Thursday August 30th.
These are some of the books about school that we enjoyed today.
