Mrs. Silvia, of the Haffenreffer Museum at Brown University visited our classes again to present information about the Native people of the Plains. Mrs. Silvia brought real artifacts to help students learn about how the culture of these people is greatly impacted by the introduction of the horse. Students studied hunting artifacts, dressed in traditional Plains Native clothing, and tried a traditional ceremonial dance. Thank you to the JFK PCC for funding this great learning experience!
Science:
We continued our observation and explorations of plant structures by cutting open they celery we put in colored water last week. Students were able to see the colored water travel through the internal structure of the plant and make inferences about it's function.
